Featuring Tim Blake Nelson
Directed by Jerusha & Jared Hess
An ode to the body's five senses delivered by a man with little time left to enjoy them.
Tim Blake Nelson (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, O Brother, Where Art Thou, Captain America: Brave New World) and a diverse team of animators from Latin America, Europe and the U.S. bring to life this bittersweet tale of regret and redemption from visionary duo Jerusha and Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre).
Ninety-Five Senses was inspired by heartbreaking interview footage of death-row inmates awaiting lethal injection in Texas’s Huntsville Unit, the busiest execution chamber in the United States.
The film was produced by the non-profit MAST accelerator, whose fellowship and grant program, contests, and productions work to discover and nurture the finest up-and-coming talent. The Ninety-Five Senses animators won MAST’s Springboard Animation Contest, then were placed with seasoned writers, directors, and producers in creating Ninety-Five Senses.
